A Night of Samhain Stories

€2.50

Join us in the old National School in Riverchapel (little rascals pre-school) as we look to celebrate Samhain and Halloween the traditional way, through sharing food and stories by candlelight!

Samhain was the last harvest of the year, a time when we faced into an uncertain winter. Will we survive the cold dark days that stretch ahead? Or will we run out of food before the food returns in the Spring? And as we pass through Samhain, a Thin Time, a time when our fallen enemies and beloved friends and family walk the earth again for a short time, will we see them?

Our ancestors knew the best way to deal with fear was to lean into it! To share stories of evil fairies, of wicked demons, Headless horsemen and Spirits doomed to walk the plain of the living forever!!

So just us to hear when was the last time the Banshee visited this area? When was the last time the Headless Horsemans hooves were heard on our roads? Has anyone from our community been spirited away by a Púka? Or perhaps you have a story to tell yourself?

While listening to these dark tales you can tuck into Barm Brack, sweets, nuts and lots more!

It promises to be a night that will haunt your dreams!

Attendees must register to ensure adequate seating and refreshments! All Proceeds go towards future events!

This event is suitable for all ages, adults and kids alike. Very young children may get spooked. Please use your own discretion!
